French IT giant, Atos, has firmly denied claims made by the ransomware group “Space Bears”, who claimed to have stolen data from the company. In a recent statement by Atos, “No infrastructure managed by Atos was breached, no source code accessed, and no Atos IP or Atos proprietary data exposed.”
The ransomware group’s claim of stealing “company database” began on December 28, 2024, when Space Bears added Atos to their Tor-based leak site. Atos responded by conducting an internal investigation, which revealed no evidence of any compromise or ransomware affecting their systems.
Atos does acknowledge that external third-party infrastructure, which is not managed or secured by Atos, has been compromised. This infrastructure contained data only mentioning the Atos company name, but Atos clarified that this does not mean a breach in their systems.
The company remains vigilant and continues to monitor the situation closely, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity.
