1.1 TB of Data on Disney’s Slack communication Leaked on Dark Web Forum

On July 12, 2024, data from Disney’s internal Slack workplace collaboration system have been leaked on Breach Forums site, by a self-proclaimed hacktivist group, NullBulge. The alleged data breach of 1.1TiB reportedly includes conversations, messages, files, and various data shared within the company’s development teams. Additionally, the group claims that their data dump consists of 10,000 channels, containing unreleased projects, original images, code excerpts, login details, as well as references to internal Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and websites.

NullBulge, is a hacktivist group that emerged between April and June 2024. Nevertheless, according to their official website, the group is dedicated to protecting artists’ rights and ensuring fair compensation for their creative work. They further stated on their website, “Our mission is to enact ways to ensure that theft from artists is reduced and to promote a fair and sustainable ecosystem for creators. Our hacks are not those of malice, but those to punish those caught stealing. Big and small theft, meet the same fate. Be wary where you get content from, because we will work tirelessly to develop and implement solutions that protect the rights and livelihoods of artists in the digital age.”

The company is known for its iconic brands such as ABC, ESPN, Pixar, Marvel Entertainment, and 20th Century Studios. It’s also famous for its theme parks, including Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort, and beloved cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.

Currently, Disney has not released an official statement regarding the alleged breach.
